Everything has a story…and there are many stories inside the story…

It´s always a pleasure and an opportunity when I´m faced with an empty sheet of paper and crayons. More or less 15 years ago when I studied Art-Therapy a completely new world opened it´s gates for me. The expansion and awareness that the free expression with art materials gave me was an amazing doorway to myself and to Infinity.

This place and time of creation I recognized immediately as home. Home that I only knew, at that time, from few spiritual practices. Inner home, home with myself. So drawing, painting from a place of freedom is one of my tools to get home, to feel home and to be more and more at home with myself and with the Universe that lives inside me.

I was not the same person after I experienced that “coming home” through art and expression. Something inside of me expanded and I could see a part of myself I didn’t know before. It was already in me but I hadn’t yet the time and opportunity to illuminate it through awareness and experience.

In creative expression and exploration, we don´t need be professional artists to do it. There can be many different reasons that do not allow or facilitate this exploration, but sometimes, exploring art, creativity and ourselves through expression and creation, can be as simple as giving ourselves permission. Permission
to do things that may be absurd, that at the eyes of the majority or even our own eyes will “not serve nothing”,
to not have to know it all,
to run the risk of doing something ugly,
to maybe not have any immediate understanding of what we´re doing,
to do it for the process not for the result,
to take it as an investment in a part of ourselves that is not so worked and known, the non-linear.

And, as when we learn a new language, a completely new world of possibilities can open!

In my life, in my work and specially in Program S.H.E.E. this is one my favorites tools!
